It is beyond anyone's imagination why did they market went so low. Everybody is talking about recession. The FatCat feels like she just went time travel.
Bush is the president
The country is in a war with Iraq
The economy is in the toilet
Clinton is running for president.
The only disappointing part is that the Bush 2 has much thicker skin than his father. Not only he get away with recession, he get away with blaming others. Excuses after excuses and still spending more and more money in Iraq. How did he get away with it? forget about how and why we get there, just what to do now?
Now i think of it, the thick skin of Bush is not the only disappointing factor. The aggressiveness or lack there of in Clinton's campaign is simply disturbing. She is too nice. I know that she can make a better president than her husband but she is not nearly as ruthless as Bill. I also appreciate the tenacity of Bill Clinton. How many times we thought he was a goner? How many times he bounced back?
Sorry for digress into politics. This is not FatCat's true intention. What FatCat concerns is the direction of the economy. Its the economy, stupid!
Base on the other Clinton's track record on economy, FatCat is optimistic about the direction of the economy when the next president is Clinton.
Obama is an unknown factor. His lack of experience is evident in all sectors. I remember when Bush 2 was in primary, he promise to surround himself with smart and knowledgeable advisers to combat his tardiness. This worked out really well for Halliberton but no one else. I am not eager to see the Democrat's version of Bush 2.
McCain is a no brain-er. He is likely extend the sunset clause in the dividend interest and the tax margin on the higher tax bracket, which is good for FatCat. However, McCain might end up spending more money in Iraq, consider the Vietnam Vet syndrome of him. There is simply no way to revive the economy when money spend is out side of the country.
Bottom line, the economy is likely to go sideways n next couple of months. FatCat recommends defensive stocks (not defense stocks) such as APLE, MSFT and GE.
